Ta Prohm Ring

(ta  prome)

One of the temples which make up Ankor Wat complex. Located in Ankor, Siem Reap Province in Cambodia, it was listed as a World Heritage site in 1992.

The  combination of trees growing out of the ruins  of the temples and the jungle encircling the surroundings is surreal. Early, early morning is the best time to be here, when the silence and solitude allow you to experience it in all its beauty… before all of the tourists and cameras arrive =)

This is a very special place in the world for me. I have been here many times in last 12 years, as I travel to Cambodia as part of my volunteer work to keep Cambodian girls in school. We take our students here to learn of their heritage. The looks of wonder on their faces is as impressive as the ruins !

20% of profits from this series helps to fund my annual donation to the Cambodian Arts and Scholarship Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation. CASF works closely with local communities to identify poor, at risk girls; provides the financial (direct cash scholarships), emotional and medical support necessary for them to attend school; and sustains this support for as long as the child wants to learn.
