Ta Prohm is one of many temples within the Ankor Wat complex. Located in Siem Reap Province in Cambodia, it was listed as a World Heritage site in 1992.
The combination of trees growing out of the ruins of the temples and the jungle encircling the surroundings is surreal. Early, early morning is the best time to be here, when the silence and solitude allow you to experience it in all its beauty… before all of the tourists and cameras arrive =)
This is a very special place in the world for me. I returned many times over the 15 years that I travelled to Cambodia. We often took our students to learn of their heritage and the look of wonder on their faces was as impressive as the ruins !
Although I am no longer formally involved with the organisation that brought me to Cambodia, I love to hear from the students and advisors with whom I formed lasting relationships.
